About ertrude Ginger (Chatterton) Gray, 86, of Charlton, and former longtime resident of Southborough, died peacefully Wednesday, June 16, 2010, at Overlook Health Center in Charlton. She was the wife of Ralph E. Gray, who passed away in 1985. Ginger was a graduate of Somerset High School and Bridgewater Teaching College, Class of 1944. She was a teacher at Athol Junior High School until she moved to Southborough in 1951. Mrs. Gray later worked for the former Worcester County National Bank for seven years before joining Commonwealth Gas. She retired from Com. Gas in 1986. Ginger liked playing the piano, listening to music and spending time with her family. A soft-spoken, kindly and determined lady, she was known and admired throughout the Overlook Community for her daily walks outdoors. She is survived by her children, Stephen Gray and his wife, Judy, of Belmont, Calif., Bruce Gray of Weymouth, Jeanne Marie Mikels and her husband, Dave, of Webster; a brother, Edward Chatterton of Peabody; two sisters, Arlene Glander and her husband, George, of Minnesota, Eunice Maloney of Springfield; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
