Earl W. Williams, age 84, of Somerset, died Sunday, March 14, 2010 in St. Anne’s Hospital in Fall River. He was the husband of Mary E. (Marland) Williams to whom he has been married for the past 58 years. Born in Fall River, a son of the late Percy and Marion (Paul) Williams, he was a lifelong resident of Somerset and had wintered in North Ft. Myers, Florida for many years. He was a graduate of Somerset High School, Class of 1944, attended Bryant College and was a communicant of St. Thomas More Church. Mr. Williams had been an inspector for Raytheon in Dighton for many years before retiring in 1985. A United States Army Veteran, he served during World War II. He was member of the Pine Lakes Country Club in North Ft Myers where he enjoyed playing golf and a member of the Somerset Progressive Club. He was an avid Redsox fan and most of all enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. Surviving in addition to his wife, one son David E. Williams and his wife Joanne of Voluntown, CT, one daughter Kathleen A. Williams of Somerset, one brother Henry R. “Hank” Williams of Somerset, four grandchildren, Jeffrey Williams, Morgan Robinson, Jessica Bradley and Michael Johnson and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by six siblings.
