Hillman H. Wordell Jr., 73, of Orleans, passed away at home on Monday, Nov. 25, 2013, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
He was the husband of the late Patricia M. Wordell.
Born in Dighton, Mass., on Dec. 6, 1939, the son of the late Hillman H. and Edna Wordell, Mr. Wordell grew up in Somerset, graduated from Somerset High School, and earned a Bachelor of Science from Southeastern Massachusetts University with a degree in textile engineering.
He worked for Firestone Tire and Rubber Co. in Fall River as a salesman, Kent County Volkswagen as the service manager, co-owned Ramsden’s Mobil in Warwick, R.I., and then ran Murray’s Fabrics along with his wife Patricia until they retired in 2002. Mr. Wordell was a life member of the Elks Club.
He is survived by a son, William H. Wordell II and his wife Jennifer of Orleans; a brother, Jeffrey Wordell and his wife Christina of Somerset; and two grandchildren, Christian, and Cullan.
