About	Evelyn M. Almond, age 91, passed peacefully on March 11, 2015. A lifelong resident of Somerset, Evelyn resided in Somerset Village all of her life. She was a 1941 graduate of Somerset High School, a member of the Somerset Baptist Church, Somerset Village Seniors and past president and member of the women’s auxiliary of the Louis A. Colon AmVets Post #72. She worked as a torpedo inspector at the Goat Island Naval Station during World War II where she met her future husband of 56 years, the late Albert Almond. Later she was a professional seamstress working in Somerset and Fall River and lastly she fulfilled her passion as an Elementary School Secretary at Somerset School Department working at the Village, Wilbur and Pottersville Schools for over 20 years. She is survived by her son Karl D. Almond of Somerset, Her Granddaughter Dana Kay Bach, and her husband Johnathon of Woodbridge, VA., Her Nieces Jo-Ann East of Somerset, Debra Toomey of Somerset, Lesley Harvey of Somerset, Erin Massoud and her husband Jon of Fall River, Brenda Saunders and husband Steve of New Bedford; Nephews John Toomey and wife Christine, Steven Nunes and wife Beth of New Bedford and several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Melissa Toomey.
