About	Kyla Ives McGarry, 16, of Berkley, passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2020, at Boston Children’s Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. Kyla was born in Falmouth; she was the daughter of James D. and Kristina (Ives) McGarry. Kyla was in her junior year at Somerset-Berkley Regional High School. Kyla was a dedicated student, and a proud member of the National Honor Society. She was an incredible athlete; she played soccer for her school as well as club and travel teams and began to run track and hurdles. In her freshman year, Kyla beat the high school’s hurdle record. Kyla was fierce. She was strong willed, strong minded and had an infectious personality. Not once did she let anything stop her from achieving her goals; especially getting her drivers license back in January in between treatments. Family, friends, doctors, and nurses alike can attest to the remarkable person Kyla was. She loved going to her Cape house in Falmouth, and spending time on the beach. Kyla enjoyed paddle boarding, and photographing sunrises and sunsets. Survivors besides her parents are a brother; Drew McGarry of Berkley, maternal grandparents; Richard and Karen Ives of Falmouth, paternal grandparents; Daniel and Susan McGarry of Easton, as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. Kyla also leaves behind her furry friends Cannon and Bode.
