About | On October 15, 2018 surrounded by his loving family, Jeffrey A. Wordell died in Charlton Memorial Hospital after a long illness. He was the husband of 53 years to Christina A. (Vautrin) Wordell. Jeff was a life-long resident of Somerset. Born March 28, 1944 to Hillman Hathaway Wordell, Sr. and Edna (O’Maley) Wordell. His great grandfather was Charles Hathaway who was a Potter in Somerset and his Potter’s wheel is at the Bradbury Museum. He was a brother to the late Hillman H. Wordell, Jr. He leaves two sons, Brandon J. Wordell of Somerset and Jason A. Wordell and his wife Ellie of Tiverton, RI. His grandson Allen J. Wordell of Somerset and Kyia E. Wordell of Somerset. A nephew William H. Wordell,II; and his two sons of Orleans, MA. Jeff was a graduate of Somerset High School, attended Bryant College, Bridgewater College and graduated from Barrington/Gordon College with a degree in Theology and Phycology. To many friends he was named “Jeff Atlas” because he could tell you where any geographic location was and how to get there. He could name all College football teams and their Mascots and where the schools were located. Jeff loved to travel with his grandson AJ Wordell. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Shriner’s Lighting Unit. He was a founding member of the Church of Our Savior Somerset when it was a Mission. A former member of the Somerset Jay-Cees and the Democratic Town Committee, he worked 35 years for the Commonwealth of MA as a Social Worker then a Probation Officer at the Attleboro District Court. |
