Hilda D. (DeCambra) Hartnett, died Sunday afternoon, July 12, 2009 at Brigham Manor Nursing Home in Newburyport. She was the beloved wife of the late Raymond F. Hartnett of 19 Pond St., Newburyport.
Born in Somerset, she was one of eleven children of the late Mary and Antone DeCambra. A graduate of Somerset High School, Class of 1937, she went on to receive her nursing degree from Shepard-Gill School of Nursing in Boston and had worked as a nurse at the Anna Jaques Hospital for 33 years, retiring in 1979.
Hilda was a member of the Daughters of Isabella and the Golden Age Club of Newburyport.
Her survivors include her two sons and daughters-in-law, Raymond F. Jr. and Diane Hartnett of Westport, and Michael P. and Cynthia Hartnett of Seabrook, N.H.; four grandchildren, Heather, Michael, Kathy and Kate Hartnett; two sisters, Cora Silvia of Swansea and Connie Haese of San Antonio; one brother, Lawrence DeCambra of Somerset; along with many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Rena Souza of Swansea, Christine Alonso of Springfield, and Anthony, Gene, Francis, Daniel and John DeCambra of Somerset.
