| About Me | I am standing in faith for the time to come when all the troubles that have targeted us will be over - that if we keep standing and fight the GOOD fight the Lord will see us THROUGH it all. Can't wait to say hard times have come to PASS! YES LORD! I spent many years of my life not satisfied with anything I accomplished. Whatever I worked at - like school work, tests, or projects -when I finished I still felt like it could be better. It was the same in college. I couldn't help a nagging feeling that I could do better if I spent more time or could be more organized. I got my certification as a Cytotechnologist after college and a year later married J. Kidd (A man I met when I was in college. He is the older brother of my college roommate) It was a busy time so I was not as worried about how I could improve on everything. However at my job I still kept thinking I could improve the work I did by striving for excellence. After 3 years of marriage we had our first baby (boy-Joshua Adam Kidd) I went on maternity leave but when it was over I ended up leaving my career to stay home with my baby. I didn't trust anyone else to take care of my baby like I could! I was a pretty good mama and I loved my babies beyond any love I had ever known -except in my love for my baby's daddy. Still that nagging thing in me persisted with me never satisfied that what I was doing my best. Three year later we had another boy - tiny blonde fuzzy headed Matthew Aaron Kidd. Love grew! Joy grew! We were a happy family! STILL- inside me that nagging thought that I wasn't giving my very best! If only I could maintain better order - or.. something..(?) Then (out of the mouth of a babe) 5 year old Joshua asked me WHAT God is! J. and I realized that we did not even think about any kind of spiritual upbringing so far in parenting our two boys. OOPPS! It fell on me to go looking into what to do about it since I was home with the children and I had the time to give. So I searched! (Long story short.....I ended up face to face with a catholic priest of St. Basils church here in Angleton, TX. ( Now called Holy Trinity) This was after I had gone to MANY denominational churches and talked to every Pastor. This Priest gave the perfect answer to a question that I had asked every Pastor I talked to. "Is there a reason that my family should come to this church?" His answer changed my life . He said "I can't tell you where to go to church, all I can do is lead you to Jesus and let Him take over!" That was the moment that I saw why everything in my life had felt "not perfected" Without Jesus there was no way my life could have been complete! Recognizing my need for His salvation and saying YES to His lordship over my life and ultimately our the lives of my whole family was the missing perfection I was searching for! Because of Jesus I finally broke free from the constant nagging within that had me always striving for a perfection I couldn't reach alone. As time continued we grew more in knowledge of Jesus and our family continued to grow too! I had two more boys: Jonathan Benjamin Kidd, & Nathanael Isaiah Kidd. Our fifth and last child was our 1st daughter, Rebekah Mallory Grace Kidd. When we first began our walk with the Lord we were like "babies" being newly born-again and were blessed to have a good church home here in Angleton! Sadly, it is not as easy for new believers in this millennium! It has become a real challenge to find a church that preaches the uncompromising Word of God without watering down the harder truths that our Lord taught. We must always be willing to embrace the WHOLE truth as H...(read more) |
