| About Me | Marilyn lived her adult life in Gainesville, FL, where she moved in 1974. She had a distinguished career as a Pediatric Nurse Practioner. For more than 25 years, she performed medical assessments of child abuse and neglect for the Child Protection Team of the University of Florida College of Medicine. She was recognized locally, statewide and nationally for her child advocacy. She wrote several scholarly articles for professional journals and received awards that recognized her work in nursing and as an expert court witness. Marilyn died on May 1, 2021, less than three weeks after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. While her family and friends were devastated by her loss, it helped to know that her last year may have been the happiest of her life. She spent nearly all of that year at the home of her son Jim and daughter in law Tia in Newark, DE.
