Graduation Year Class of 1985
Date of Passing Mar 19, 1998
About Paul Woods Rudd, 30, died of a brain hemorrhage after surgery in the John Muir Medical Center, Walnut Creek, CA, March 19, 1998.
Born June 6, 1967 to Calvin P. and LaVon Woods Rudd. He attended Skyline High and graduated from the University of Utah where he was president of the Delta Chi fraternity. He served a mission in Taiwan, 1986-1988. Married Kimberly Place, daughter of J. Michael and Kathy Place, Bountiful, in the Salt Lake Temple for time and all eternity. The greatest day of his life was March 21, 1993, when his twins, James and Rachael were born.
He was living in Concord, CA at the time of his death. He was attending the California College of Podiatric Medicine, San Francisco, where his peers honored him as their elected class of 2000 representative for the APMSA. He was returning from a committee meeting in Washington, D.C. when stricken with a stroke. The doctors performed an angioplasty to reopen his carotid artery near his brain. They found that this artery had closed off about 80% of the way for an unknown reason. He talked to his family after the surgery but later that night went into a coma and died in the early hours of the next morning. He was an organ donor and saved six lives with his selfless donation. He was a big advocate of organ donation.
He would want everyone to know that he knows that Jesus is the Christ and that He can help us no matter what our difficulties may be. He also would want everyone to know that he adored his children, that they brought him the greatest joy and they were the most important thing in his life.
