Marion “Peg” Brown passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 20, 2026. She was 95. Peg graduated from Skaneateles High School and went on to finish her education at RIT. She worked several years in Skaneateles as a bookkeeper at Hahn’s Pharmacy, and the Skaneateles Village and Town o?ces.
She enjoyed serving the Skaneateles community. Peg joined the Skaneateles Firemen’s Ladies Auxiliary in 1955 where she served as President, VP, Treasurer and Secretary. She always enjoyed marching in the parades and running the loan closet. She was a charter member of SAVES. A member, Financial Secretary and past President of Central N.Y.’s Firemen’s Auxiliary and member of Onondaga Co. Volunteer Fireman’s Auxiliary.
In 1995, she was named Citizen of the Year by the Skaneateles Area Chamber of Commerce for her volunteer work in Skaneateles. She enjoyed traveling (especially her trip to Ireland), swimming, reading and knitting.
She was predeceased by her husband, Fred Brown, and sister Jane Dove. She’s survived by her daughters: Debra Masoud (Bader), Diane Salvati (Jon) and Gail Coleman (Ron), six grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, niece and nephews
Calling hours will be held at Robert D. Gray Funeral Home, 49 Jordan St., Skaneateles from 5 pm to 7 pm on Tuesday, May 26.
Mass will be held 10 am on Wednesday, May 27 at St. Mary’s of the Lake, 10 West Austin St., Skaneateles. Interment immediately following at Lakeview Cemetery on West Genesee St., Skaneateles.
