About Olin Fitch Woodworth, a lifelong mechanical draftsman and dedicated family man, passed away on July 23, 1955, in Greenlock, Washington Township, New Jersey, at the age of 74. He was born on June 29, 1881, in Spafford, New York, and is laid to rest at Hurffville Cemetery in Gloucester County, New Jersey.

Olin graduated from Skaneateles Academy in 1903 and went on to earn his degree from Cornell University in 1908. He built a steady and productive career as a mechanical draftsman in the New Jersey area, where he also raised his family.

In 1915, at the age of 34, Olin married Linda Allen (1887–1972). Together they shared a long and loving marriage and raised two children: their daughter Martha (1916–1982) and son Walter Allen (1921–2008).

He was preceded in death by a sister, Lucretia E (1867-1873, a brother, Joel G 1873-1879, and by his sister, Gertrude (Woodworth) Grout (1869–1946).

Olin was the son of Perry Fitch Woodworth (1844–1936) and Martha Maria (Norton) Woodworth (1846-1934). His father, a native of Spafford, served with honor in the Civil War as a stretcher bearer, musician, and assistant to a medical officer in Company F, 122nd New York Volunteers. After the war, Perry married Martha on February 14, 1866, and took to farming. Together they raised a family rooted in service, education, and strong values.

Olin’s life was one of quiet strength and thoughtful contribution—traits that live on through his descendants and the memory of those who knew him.
