| About | PENNY (PENELOPE) CANDACE JANZ (nee THACH) Peacefully, with her family by her side, Penny passed away on October 23, 2000 at the age of 44, after a courageous battle with cancer. Penny leaves to mourn her passing, her daughters Sandy (Quentin) Towns, Amanda Janz, Sherri Janz and their father Jerry Janz; three grandchildren, Brittany, Chantel and Dallas Towns; her mother Anne Holm; four sisters, May (Norman), Monica (Larry), Jane (Bernie), Kitty and one brother Jim (Julie), special lifelong friends Becky and Randy Chester and their son Jack, numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. A special thank you to Dr. Bowman, Dr. Jones, Pat and staff at CancerCare Manitoba, Health Sciences Centre; Dr. Dyck and staff at Seven oaks Hospital; Palliative Care Nurse Anne, all family and friends who helped and cared for Penny in this difficult time, as well as Motor Coach IT Dept. for their help and support during her illness. The family would like to send an endless thank you to Randy, Becky and Jack for their unfailing love, care, support and compassion for Penny as well as opening up their home and their hearts to Penny and her family. At Pennys request, cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service to celebrate her life will be held on Thursday, October 26, at 2:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made in Pennys memory to the Canadian Breast Cancer Research, c/o CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Wpg., R3E 0V9.
