Sad news - my brother Peter has passed away.
He had chronic problems with chest infections and this month was no exception. He went to the hospital, was diagnosed with pneumonia and was sent home with a prescription for antibiotics. A few days later he felt very poorly and went back to the hospital. While there, he had a serious heart attack. They resuscitated him, put him on a ventilator and kept him sedated for a few days while they treated him. When they tried to wake him from sedation it fairly quickly became clear that he had suffered serious neurological damage and was unlikely to ever wake, let alone recover. On Friday, with a lot of family gathered round, we discontinued life support. He passed peacefully after just a few hours.
