Graduation Year Class of 1961
Date of Passing Dec 05, 1999
About TED DAHER Peacefully, December 5, 1999 at McMaster University Hospital, Hamilton, his family at his side, Teddy, 56 years, our loving brother, uncle, husband and dad, passed into life everlasting to join his parents, Ted and Katie Daher. Besides his wife Bev and daughters, Deanni and Shannon, Teds memory will be cherished by his brothers, Alf (Erna), Jim (Sharon) and sister Sylvia Gurniak. Our brother was a dear friend and loving uncle to Jamie (Anita), Kevin (Leah), Jeffrey (Sherri), Michael (Diane) Daher, Gary (Christine) and Janice Gurniak. Teddy was born in Winnipeg on January 23, 1943. He was baptized and confirmed into Albright Evangelical Church. Ted was raised in the north end and attended Robertson, Mynarski and Sisler High Schools. After his marriage, Ted and Bev made their home in Burlington, Ont. Ted retired as a Fire Fighter from the Burlington Fire Department in 1995. For 20 years, Ted made the annual family ski trip to Big Sky, Montana where he enjoyed skiing with his brother and nephews. It was on the ski hill at Big Sky that Ted was "best man" for his nephew Garys wedding. The past few winters, Ted and Bev enjoyed holidays in Arizona where he enjoyed hiking the mountains with his brother and sister. It was there, in 1999, that Ted took ill. Our brother loved people. To him, strangers were friends he hadnt met. He was always doing for others. Ted volunteered his time to the Food Bank, drove seniors to the Blue Jay games and donated his blood 120 times to the Canadian Red Cross. Ted also got great enjoyment from his computer. A celebration of Teddys life took place in Burlington. How appropriate that the funeral home was formerly Teds Fire Station. Donations in Teddys memory may be sent to the Manitoba Cancer Treatment and Research Foundation, 100 Olivia St., Winnipeg, Man. Teds family welcomes you to a gathering of his friends and relatives, 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, December 22 at 53 Brahms Bay, North Kildonan.
