About	MARK WESLEY OWENS After a lengthy and hard fought battle with cancer Mark Wesley Owens passed away peacefully on July 13, 2013. Mark is survived by his son Hunter, his mother Diane, his brother Troy, nephews Brandon and Austin, and Troy's wife Nicole, as well as many other relatives and friends. Anyone who knew Mark knew he was not one to sit still for long. Mark lived and worked in every province in Canada. "Itchy feet" as he called them. That all changed for Mark with the birth of his son Hunter, all Mark wanted was to be close to Hunter and settled in Calgary, AB. Mark would always be the first to tell anyone his son was by far the greatest accomplishment of his life. We know Mark will be looking down on Hunter with tremendous pride. Mark was very much a loner, and kept a few close friendships throughout his life. Mark's closest and oldest friend Jim passed away earlier this year as a result of cancer. We know Jim and Dad were waiting for Mark with fishing poles in hand. A celebration of Mark's life will take place on Sunday, July 21, 2013 at the home of Troy and Nicole Owens, 27 Lodge Ave. between the hours of 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. The family would like to thank the staff at Riverview Health Centre for the care they gave Mark during his final days. We would also like to thank Dr. Gary Harding and Dr. Gary Schroeder for the tremendous care they gave Mark the last two years. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba.
