About | GERALDINE AUDREY MOROZ (nee SAWCHUK) After a lengthy battle with Multiple Sclerosis, it is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Geraldine Moroz, aged 67, in the early morning of Saturday, March 2, 2013, at the Seven Oaks General Hospital. Besides her husband, Reginald Moroz, she is survived by her daughter, Kristie, and her son, Kelly (and his wife, Jana-Jo) who reside in Calgary, AB. She also leaves to mourn her mother, Pauline Sawchuk. Gerry was predeceased by her father, Joseph Sawchuk. Geraldine was born in 1945, in Winnipeg, MB. She was a supervisor at the Manitoba Telephone Systems when she met, fell in love with, and married Reg Moroz (on September 17, 1966). Though Gerry endured undeserving health related concerns, she was a strong role model who was always upbeat and never complained or pitied herself. Gerry was most well known for her good-natured qualities; she was always singing, humming, or up for a good laugh, and would never speak ill will of anyone. Her main passions in life included cooking, avidly watching sports, and going on holidays with her family. Reg and Gerry enjoyed each other's company very much, and formed a solid team. By far, their favorite vacation destination was Maui, and they routinely visited Fargo to shop and dine. Big on family tradition, the Moroz family ate dinners together as a unit (when the kids lived at home), and looked forward to holiday routines, especially Christmas. Geraldine was adored by all those who met her, but her passing leaves a particular emptiness in the hearts of her close friends and family. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church (737 Bannerman Avenue) at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 7. Interment to follow in Holy Family Cemetery, 4355 Main Street.
