About	DAVID LAWRENCE SKRABEK At his home, on Friday, June 3, David passed away at the age of 61 after a lengthy illness. David is survived and will be sadly missed by his sons, Ian (Amber), and Shawn (Heather), his granddaughters, Maxine and Shontal; his brother John (Edna); and his sisters, Anne (Walter) and Elizabeth. He will also be missed by his nephews, Jeffrey and John (Rose); niece Linda (Joseph) and Sean. David was predeceased by his sister, Stephanie (Debbie), his father, Max, and his mother, Pearl. David began his railway career at the old Portage and Main office of the Canadian National Railway. He then became a clerk for the CNR at the Royal Alexander location before moving on as a dispatcher for C.P. Rail. While always a hard worker, David always believed his most important job was in raising his two sons. The three of them spent many a vacation travelling through western Canada in their VW van. One of David's greatest joys was getting out on the open road whether it was by van, car, or especially his motorcycle. David spent the last few years of his life researching the Skrabek Family History to pass on to his children and grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 7 at 1:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Donations may be made in David's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, or the Canadian Diabetes Association.
