About JOHN JUN MIZOBUCHI
After a courageous battle with cancer, John Mizobuchi passed away peacefully in Ottawa on July 30, 2002. John was born in Winnipeg on April 18, 1945. He grew up in the North End and excelled academically and athletically while attending Sisler High School. He later attended United College and first worked for Manpower before joining the foreign service section of the Federal Government. John worked at several postings throughout Asia as well as in Minneapolis and Ottawa. His innovations in immigration processing were implemented at Canadian embassies throughout the world. His most recent posting was as the Deputy High Commissioner at the Canadian High Commission in Colombo, Sri Lanka. In 1977, John married Minori Tomita whom he met while working in Tokyo. He is survived by his wife and their three sons, Robert, Norman and Andrew; as well as by his mother Sadako Mizobuchi; and sister Sachi Guilbert, in Winnipeg. He was predeceased by his father David Kiyoshi Mizobuchi in 1973. John will be deeply missed by family, friends and co-workers.
