About | JOYCE CAROLYNNE WATT May 8, 1945 – September 16, 2019 It is with a deep sadness that we announce the passing of Joyce Carolynne Watt on September 16, 2019 at the age of 74. Mom spent her final months at Riverview after a lengthy illness that she approached with a strength and grace that we know was intended to support us. She was born in Winnipeg on May 8, 1945. She graduated from the University of Manitoba with Bachelor Degrees in Arts, and Education. She was a very active Mom in the community, volunteering extensively at the various schools we attended, and in our other activities. Later in life she worked in various roles supporting our parents' business ventures. Mom was a voracious reader, with murder mysteries and history being her favourite topics. But her passion was travel. In her later years she travelled extensively with various trips to Europe. The most memorable being a river cruise down the Danube and the Rhine. We will always cherish our many family trips we took with her to various parts of Canada and USA. She is survived by her son Ewan Jr (Sharlene) daughter Tanis Hutchinson (Kevin), beloved grandchildren Rachel, Lauryn and Tyler, brothers Larry and Bryan Ring, as well as numerous, relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Bill and Carol Ring, and her former husband Ewan. According to her wishes, cremation will take place and a private family internment will be held. A special thank you to the staff at Riverview who showed sincere compassion to our Mom. We would also like to acknowledge members of her book club and Monday night card group, you brought her so much joy in her later years. Flowers are gratefully declined.
