About	LEONARD ZAIKOW After a brief illness, with his family and a friend at his side, Leonard passed away Sunday, April 5, 2009, in his 60th year. Always a great guy to his family and many friends, a good stepfather to his wife's family, a hard worker for the Grain Commission lab, as well as in family endeavors, Len will be sorely missed by his wife Susan and her family, sister Judy (Gerry), cherished uncle Peter and cousin Carolynne, and many other precious family and close friends. Len enjoyed many hours fishing throughout Manitoba, or bringing in distant stations on shortwave, or working on his gardens, or doing his extensive reading, much of it with a civic-minded bent. These took second place only to hosting small gatherings of family and friends, often at his backyard barbecues. At his request, cremation has taken place and a private family ceremony will be held at a later date. All of Len's friends can consider themselves as honorary pallbearers. The family gives special thanks to all those who expressed concern and those who were able to act as caregivers.
