Graduation Year Class of 1967
Date of Passing Mar 27, 2015
About STAN (STASH) BERNAS It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father, papa, brother and uncle on March 27, 2015. Dad will be missed always by his three children, Angie, Lisa (John) and Brent (Charmaine); treasured grandsons, Griffin, Morgan, Sean and Emmett; along with his five brothers, three sisters and many nieces and nephews. He will be especially missed by his best friend and loyal dog Matowy. Stan loved the simple things in life, nothing made him happier than a warm day in his backyard reading a book or doing a puzzle surrounded by his grandsons. If he wasn't outside tinkering in his yard, he was inside cheering on the Jets or the Bombers. Stan spent 35 years teaching, which brought him pride and joy. He was loved by his students for his unique teaching style and quirky ways. Stan loved teaching so much that even after retirement he volunteered his time at several schools within his community. He also enjoyed his retirement by taking computer classes, doing Tai Chi, riding his bike and he was an active member of the Robertson-Mynarski Resident Association. "Life will be a very great deal less weird without you." "Goodbye, Farewell and Amen" Following a private family service, an open house will take place at 1019 Bannerman on Saturday, April 25, between 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. All those whose lives have been touched by Stan are welcome to pay their final respects. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. Boniface Palliative Care Unit.
