| About | SHARON JEAN POPOWICH March 25, 1952 - December 21, 2013 On December 21, 2013, at Boundary Trails Health Centre in Winkler, MB, Sharon Popowich, beloved mother, grandmother and sister, passed away at the age of 61 years. She is survived by her daughter, Maggie, son-in-law Peter and grandsons Trepp and Reece. She also leaves to celebrate her life her brothers John and Jim, and her sisters Donna and Brenda. She was predeceased by her sister Gale; and parents Nestor and Betty Popowich. Sharon was born in Calgary, AB, to a Canadian soldier, Nestor and his wife, Betty. The family moved around a lot, but settled in Winnipeg after their father's death when Sharon was 12. Sharon worked for the City of Winnipeg libraries for 30 years. She raised one daughter, Maggie, and was the best mother a girl could ask for. Maggie later married Peter Fehr and had two sons, Trepp and Reece, who loved their "Nan" immensely. She moved to Winkler, MB, three years ago to be closer to her daughter and grandsons. She will always be remembered for her loving, caring nature and generosity. As per Sharon's request, a small service celebrating Sharon's life will be held for family and close friends at a later date.
