Graduation Year Class of 1972
Date of Passing Jul 15, 2001
About MARILYN LOUISE GIESBRECHT (nee BLOCK) It is with great sadness that we announce that our mother, daughter, sister and aunt went onto her heavenly Father on July 15, 2001 at the age of 46. Marilyn leaves to cherish her memory, her daughters, Melody and Delaney; mother Phyllis; sister Sandra and husband Gerry; brother Wayne; nieces, Amanda and Kellsie; nephew Brit; grandmother Lynda Patzer; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her father August in 1995; sister-in-law Marlene in 1998 and niece Noella in 2000. Marilyn was born in Winnipeg on September 10, 1954. She spent her time as a stay at home mom who took an active interest in her kids. She enjoyed coaching and watching her daughters play fastball. She was their best friend who was always there for them and put their interests ahead of her own. She served as a board member for the Winnipeg Youth Softball League and The Maples Community Centre. Mom enjoyed spending her time on the computer, playing bingo, going to the racetrack and her regular Friday night card games with her friends. During her many years of illness, she never questioned why, and never appeared down. She was always positive and optimistic and looking ahead. Her daughters express a heartfelt thanks to all family and friends for their love, kindness and endless support shown to mom over the past few years and to Pastor Lynne for the many prayers. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 19, at 2:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. with Pastor Lynne Hutchison presiding. A family interment to follow at a later date. If friends so desire, memorial donations in Marilyns name may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 102-310 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB, R3C 0S6. Marilyn - The pain we feel most deeply is the hardest thing today, because we, your family, loved you in a special way. We hold you close within our hearts; no distance can divide, for today, in memorys lane, we still walk side by side. Our thoughts are with you, your place no one can fill. In life we loved you dearly; in death we love you still. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL in care of arrangements - 586-8044.
