Graduation Year Class of 1972
Date of Passing Jun 25, 2007
About WAYNE HARIK 1953 - 2007 It is with great sadness that the family of Wayne Harik announce his sudden passing on Monday, June 25, 2007, at the Grace Hospital. Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Dustin, Sean, Kevin; daughter Stephanie; mother Eleanor; brothers, Jerry (Candis), Alan (Kathy), Brian (Diane); sister Karen; Aunty Sally (Al) Boynowski; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his father Emil Harik; and grandparents Steve and Katie Feschuk and Michael and Anna Herak. Wayne was born and raised in Winnipeg. He played hockey in his younger days and loved to watch hockey in his older days. He would often shut off his cell phone and not take any calls in order to watch his beloved Boston Bruins. No one would dare to phone him during hockey playoff time! On more than one occasion, Wayne would call out during intermissions and end his call when the game started again. You could not have asked for a more devoted fan, and Wayne always wore his Boston Bruins cap. Wayne attended Robertson, Mynarski and Sisler schools in Winnipeg. He excelled in math. He had a brain for numbers which served him well during his career at Stylerite Department Stores as a buyer. He loved his job, enjoyed the quick pace and competitive market situations. Wayne was always prepared for meetings and always made quick decisions. He ended his career as a buyer for Cotter Canada. Wayne was a founding member of Garden Park Baptist Church in 1985. He served in many capacities and with great enthusiasm. He cut grass, cooked, sang in the choir, was church treasurer and was always ready to lend an ear or a hand as the case may be. He was well respected, friendly and sociable. When he was able to, Wayne liked to do carpentry work, building fences and gardening. Viewing will take place one half hour prior to the service. Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 4 at Garden Park Baptist Church, 1825 Inkster Blvd., with Pastor Al Friesen officiating. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Barry Senyk, Ted Kuffner, Wayne Howell, Luke Misir, George Felbel and Chris Boyle. In lieu of flowers, donations in Wayne's memory may be made to a charity of one's choice. He will be sadly missed by all. VICHNAYA PAMYAT KORBAN FUNERAL CHAPEL 956-2193
