About | WENDY MAUREEN GERALDINE DYBVIG (RUDYK) June 19, 1950 – February 10, 2022 It is with heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Wendy Dybvig (Rudyk) on February 10, 2022 at Saskatoon, SK. Wendy was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Sophie Rudyk. She will be lovingly missed by her husband Alfred; son Darryl; granddaughter Elle; sisters, Jo-Ann (Les) Oliver and Bonnie (John) Pilgrim; brother Michael (Deen) and numerous nieces, grandnieces, cousins and dear friends. Wendy was born and grew up in Winnipeg's north end, attending Florence Nightingale Elementary School, then Sisler High School. During her youth, Wendy spent many weekends at the family cottage in Ponemah, enjoying the water, beach and family gatherings. Wendy's caring and nurturing nature was a perfect fit for what was to be her lifelong profession. She became a Registered Nurse after graduating from The St. Boniface School of Nursing. Following graduation, she went on to work at Misericordia General Hospital, Winnipeg, when in January of 1971, she met Al, her husband of 50 years. Soon after they were married, they were joined by son Darryl. After a family move, she went to nursing in The Pas and a later move into Saskatchewan led to nursing at hospitals in Regina, Prince Albert and Saskatoon, where she finally retired. After all those years of taking care of all those many others, she took her well-deserved rest. But the final years of work, took a heavy toll on Wendy's physical and mental health, robbing her of a comfortable and fulfilling retirement. She slowly slipped away from us, but those good memories of her remain strong; a vibrant, intelligent, fun-loving and big hearted wife, sister, cousin, mother, aunt, grandmother and friend. Rest in peace, Wendy. We're sure Mom and Dad were waiting for you at the Rainbow Bridge, with Duchie and Lacey at the front, leading the parade of family pets. Cremation has taken place. There will be a private memorial later in the year. Donations in Wendy's name can be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society or Saskatoon Humane Society in Wendy's name.
