About | JACK LYSAK June 1, 1944 - March 5, 2015 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jack Lysak on Thursday, March 5, 2015 at the age of 70 years. After a long battle with Cancer he passed away peacefully with his loving family at his side. Jack was born in Winnipeg on June 1, 1944 and was predeceased by his parents Harry and Helen Lysak of Allegra, Manitoba. Jack is survived by his loving wife Loraine, of 49 years, son Chris (Carmel) Lysak, daughter Tracey (Tim) Fiebelkorn, and grandchildren Braedyn, Avery, Cierra and Mitchell, as well as his brother Harvey (Nancy) Lysack, sister Ruth (Gerald) Peluk, and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Jack was a loving husband, father, grandfather (Gigi), brother and friend to all. In 1973, Jack along with Bill Ambrosie founded Ambrosie Lighting. With their hard work and sacrifice, they grew the company to what it is today. Jack retired in 2004, to spend time with his family and friends. Jack was very proud of his family and he enjoyed watching his grandchildren grow up. He tried to attend as many of their activities as he could. He liked to golf and most of the time he really enjoyed it and at other times not so much. He was one of the best polka dancers in his time, he loved to spin and many ladies waited in line to dance with him. For the lucky ones that did get a chance to polka with Jack, they ended up dizzy by the end. He was a very caring man and was always there to lend a hand to any family and friends; you never had to ask him twice for help. A special thanks to everyone at CancerCare and Palliative Care. The doctors, nurses, home care and respite provided much support in this trying time. Funeral service for Jack will be at Saint Basil's Ukrainian Catholic Church, 202 Harcourt St. in Winnipeg on Friday, March 13 at 10:30 a.m., lunch to follow. Jack will be laid to rest at Chapel Lawn, 4000 Portage Ave., Winnipeg at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to either CancerCare Manitoba or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
