About	DARLENE CAROL WOJCIK It is with deep sadness that we announce Darlene's passing on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at St. Boniface Hospital. She is survived by her son, Kyle (Laura); her sister Barbara (Fred); as well as many extended family members and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Edward. Darlene was born April 27, 1952 in Winnipeg to William and Jean Slym. Darlene retired after a long and rewarding career with the City of Winnipeg Parks and Recreation Department. One of her highlights included designing a mascot affectionately known as the Munchkin for the Winnipeg Junior Winter Games. Darlene was one of the most kind, selfless and strong people you could ever meet. She enjoyed reading, gardening, baking and visiting with her 'granddog' Loki. Darlene had a quiet strength that allowed her to endure many health challenges throughout her life before suddenly passing from complications of a heart attack earlier this summer. A special thank you to the wonderful doctors, nurses and staff at Deer Lodge, Grace Hospital and St. Boniface Hospital for their care and compassion to our family. Cremation has taken place and a private celebration of her life will be held at her home later this fall.
