About	BRIAN ARNOLD PEABODY Sadly, on Friday, January 9, 2009, at the age of 53, Brian Arnold Peabody passed away. Brian was predeceased by his parents, his uncles, and his nephew. Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife Caroline, of 21 years; his sons, Warren and Jeremy; his brothers and sisters, Arnold (Shirley), Karen (Peter), Deborah (Lou). Brother-in-law Edward (Stella) and sister-in-law Patricia (Bruce). He also leaves behind many uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces. Brian was born October 7, 1955 in Winnipeg to Arnold and Audrey Peabody. He attended elementary school at Robertson Elementary and participated in Cubs as a young man. He completed his high school at Sisler. During his high school days he enjoyed playing football for the Sisler Spartans football team. He was fortunate to play on a winning high school football team which landed the honour of winning a high school championship. From high school Brian went on to attend the University of Manitoba where he obtained his Bachelor of Science degree and his teaching degree while working part time at the Manitoba Liquor Commission. He also continued to play football at the junior level with the Hawkeye's and the Winnipeg Rods. Brian began his teaching career in Ashern, Manitoba, where he enjoyed many years of success as a teacher. From there Brian taught at Starbuck and then Selkirk, after which time he returned to school once again to obtain his Computer Analyst Programmer certificate from Red River College. This led him to his first job in the technology industry at the Canadian Wheat Board, as well as, teaching evenings at Red River College. He eventually left the Wheat Board to become an Educational Training and Teaching Consultant for Manitoba Public Insurance. During his time with MPI he obtained his Masters in Adult education. Although he was a very busy working man he also had time and energy to marry his long time friend and have a family consisting of two boys. His boys were very precious to him and he loved to attend all of their functions. Those could range from school making Christmas ornaments to the very many (at times cold) soccer, hockey and football games. As the boys aged and showed an increased interest in football, so had Brian's love of football returned. He spent many a night with them coaching, guiding, and playing the game with them, be it in the back yard or on the football field. He also extended his teaching skills and football skills to many others that he came in contact with. His insight into the game was amazing. He could take a team from not even knowing how to put their equipment on to playing in the quarter finals. Knowing the Man that Brian was, he, without a doubt, looked death in the face, and gave it The Club . Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, January 15 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Church, 341 Selkirk Avenue with an Oblate Father officiating. Interment to follow at Holy Ghost Cemetery.
