About | ALAN ROBERT VAN LANDEGHEM Suddenly on May 11, 2000, Alan Robert Van Landeghem passed away at the age of 45. He is survived by his wife Barbara Jean (Lake) three children, Christopher, Derek and Erica Jeanne. He is also survived by his parents, Albert and Bernadine; sister Brenda (Rick) Bobychuk; brothers, Donald (Laurie), Wayne (Dinah) brothers-in-law, Alex, Fred (Karen), John (Vicki) and sister-in-law Brenda (Irving) many nieces, nephews and cousins. Alan was predeceased by his grandparents, Achille and Jeanne Van Landeghem and Joseph and Rose Tiller. Alan was third generation co-owner of Jeannes Bakery Ltd. He took tremendous pride in Jeannes Bakery, not only in the product it produced, but everything else the Bakery stood for. He was proud of the fact that he worked with his Grandfather (who started Jeannes bakery) his Dad and Mother, his Uncle as well as brothers and sister and other family members. Even though Alan spent many long hours at the business he was a devoted husband and father. He looked forward to the time he spent year round at his cottage in Grand Marais, where he spent quality time with his family and friends. Even though the cottage was his time to relax, Alan always found the time to help out at the local Church, Community Club or any friends and neighbours who needed a hand. Alans passion was snowmobiling and he spent many hours enjoying it. He enjoyed teaching his children the fine art of snowmobiling. Prayers will take place at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. on Sunday, May 14 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will take place on Monday, May 15 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Theresas Church, 3597 Main St., West St. Paul with Msgr. Louis McCloskey, P.H. officiating. A private family interment will follow in St. Margarets Cemetery in Little Britain, Man. Pallbearers will be Norm Savoie, Terry Wilson, Albert Van Linge, Ron Cwiak, Ron Cassels and Gary Rozak. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Alans memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 301 - 352 Donald St., Wpg., R3B 2H8 or to a charity of ones choice. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Msgr. Louis McCloskey for his compassion, understanding and help. Cropo Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements, 586-8044.
