About	NESTOR JOHN BILINSKY July 30, 1939 - February 27, 2016 With sorrow in our hearts we announce the passing of Nestor John Bilinsky on February 27, 2016. Nestor was born to John Bilinsky and Nellie Frykas on July 30, 1939 in Ethelbert, Manitoba. The family moved to Winnipeg in 1944 where Nestor attended Margaret Scott and Isaac Newton schools. In 1959, he began employment with the Winnipeg Free Press as a linotype operator and worked there until his retirement. In 1963, Nestor married Mary Glicaria Kozakewich and the union was blessed with sons Gregory and Damian. Nestor was a kind and generous father, always caring for the education and well-being of his children. Nestor was an active member of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church. In his youth he was a member of the Ukrainian Catholic youth club, and looked forward to being a soldier guarding the shroud during Holy Week. His favorite pastimes were reading and playing pool with his buddies. He was close to the Rohatynchuk brothers and they remained lifelong friends. Nestor was predeceased by his parents John and Nellie Bilinsky; brothers Morris and Orest; sister Emily Klym; sister-in-law Florence; and nephew Lawrence Bilinsky. He is survived by his former wife Mary Glicaria Bilinsky; sons Gregory (Diana Donnelly) and Damian (fiancée Jodie Borle); sister-in-law Bernice Bilinsky; brother-in-law Mike Klym; and many nieces and nephews. Prayers and viewing will be held at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main Street, on Friday, March 4 at 7:00 p.m. The funeral liturgy will be celebrated at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, 737 Bannerman Avenue, on Saturday, March 5 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Nestor's name to the Canadian Diabetes Association, or a charity of your choosing.
