About | THOMAS ANDREW BUNN It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear husband and father, after a valiant battle with COVID-19, on May 20, 2021, at St. Boniface Hospital. Andrew was born January 1, 1951 to Maurice and Mary Bunn (nee Melnyk). He is survived by wife Marilyn and daughter Marika (Ian); siblings, Patricia Modlin and Bob Bunn; in-laws, Myron (Caroline), Taras (Sally), the Melnyk and Ottawa families; close friends, Eugene Kirichenko, Bill Balan, Peter Kondra, and Don Nichol, as well as countless friends, family, colleagues and students. Andrew held both BA (Arts) and an LLB from University of Manitoba. He worked for many years in the legal profession, eventually teaching the Legal Assistant Course at Robertson College. He was passionate about teaching; he truly loved his students. Tato had a fervent passion for learning, an insatiable desire to always expand his knowledge. This is one of the most valuable lessons Dad taught. Tato took great pride in his Ukrainian heritage, and was involved with CYMK, Ukrainian Businessmen's Club, and Folklorama. His greatest joy in life was the love of his life, Marilyn. Married for 42 years, and rarely apart, a truly inspirational marriage and relationship, that proved true love truly exists. Special thanks to Dad's medical team at St. Boniface. A very special thank you to Sherry (Intensive Care Unit), you are an angel. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to St. Boniface Hospital Foundation. Viewing to be held Friday, May 28 at Korban Funeral Chapel from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services to be held Saturday, May 29 at 11:00 a.m. (via YouTube livestream from St. Mary The Protectress Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral) with Father Alexander Harkavyi officiating. Interment to follow at All Saints Cemetery (via Facebook livestream at Korban Funeral Chapel). Tato, we will never forget your sacrifices, your selflessness and your strength.
