About	JOSEPH FRANCIS MOSKI May 12, 1953 December 13, 2018 With heavy hearts the family announces the untimely passing of Mr. Joseph Francis Moski, aged 65 years, on Thursday, December 13, 2018, at Grace Hospital, Winnipeg. Joe was predeceased by his grandparents, Fred and Julia Procopchuk; father, Frank; wife, Linda; and sister, Brenda. His lasting influence will be cherished by his mother, Elsie; siblings, John and Donna; children, Robert and Corin; grandchildren, Cori and Eric; great-grandchild, Luke; nephews, Cole and Michael; nieces, Zoe and Phoebe; as well as his aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Born on May 12, 1953, Joe worked for many years as a mail carrier and superintendent for Canada Post, Winnipeg, before retiring in 2009. He was highly regarded by colleagues and upper management alike and served his considerable staff as a respected mentor as well. In his youth, Joe played hockey for the Canadian Ukrainian Athletic Club (C.U.A.C.) and was an integral member of the team that won the Provincial Juvenile Hockey Championship by defeating the Flin Flon Bombers. At the early age of eight, Joe was introduced to the sport of golf by his father, Frank, getting the jump on the game which ultimately developed into Joe's prolific athletic passion. Joe and his dad enlisted as original members at the Bel Acres Golf & Country Club, where Joe played almost every day of the week, and at times several rounds per day, for numerous years. Over his lifetime, Joe connected for six aces (holes-in-one) and won a number of club championships. During the winter months he travelled to San Antonio, Texas, with his good friend, Mike Holland, and other golfing buddies from Bel Acres. Although in recent years health issues prevented Joe from pursuing his lifelong passion for golf, he lately began walking and cycling and, in his spare time, enjoyed reading, solving crosswords, unscrambling the Free Press Jumble and watching most televised sports. He also began to cultivate culinary skills and anticipated creating new dishes he had seen on the Cooking Network, or else replicating recipes made famous by his Baba, his mother and his aunties (the "shenka," especially). Like his father, Joe was somewhat reserved in demeanor and possessed that discriminating eye for fact or fancy. He always provided an opinion (or more) when prompted. Joe had a great sense of humour and was generous with expending time in service for others. Our family thanks the Intensive Care Unit at Grace Hospital for its dedicated medical efforts on Joe's behalf. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. at Wojcik's Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main Street at Manitoba Avenue in Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joe's memory to the Manitoba Lung Association, The Winnipeg Humane Society or to a charity of your choice. Vichnaya Pamyat
