Graduation Year Class of 1968

About BRENDA ANNE LEMESURIER It is with profound sadness that the family announces the untimely passing of Mrs. Brenda Anne LeMesurier (nee Moski), B.A. (English), B.Ed., early Sunday, August 19, 2007 at St. Boniface Hospital. Brenda crossed over in sleep during a courageous battle with cancer. Throughout her final days and hours she was encompassed and comforted by her family and close friends. Remaining to cherish her influence are, husband Ivan; son Cole; father and mother, Frank and Elsie Moski; brothers, Joe (Linda) and John (Jo Anne) Moski; sister Donna Moski; sons-in-law, Robert (Connie), Tom (Michelle), and Lawrence (Tracy) LeMesurier; extended family, Robert Church and Corin Jorgenson; close cousins, Michael Moskal and Robert Moskal, and many uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. Brenda was predeceased by her grandparents, Fred and Julia Procopchuk. She was very close to Julia and together they would often shop at Eaton's, sit through movies sometimes twice, and attend the theatre and Rainbow Stage. Brenda, a devoted mother and teacher, was born July 29, 1951, and taught kindergarten in the St. James School Division at Crestview School, sharing her life with pupils, friends, and colleagues in education for over 33 years. Her unique style and flair together with her amazing smile and laugh was infectious and will be sorely missed. Those who knew her could only be attracted to, and influenced by, her utter lack of pretentiousness. A Leo with a heart of gold a lion's heart Brenda possessed an acute, deeply seated sense of justice and fair play, readily sensed by anyone attempting to sabotage the level playing field. Courage Brenda had from the French, coeur, meaning heart . Brenda always gave unselfishly of herself to children, her pupils or not, and her fondness for all animals was renowned. Her tastes in literature and music, most art in fact, were eclectic. She loved to read and write and enjoyed listening to and attending a wide range of musical presentations. And Brenda could ham it up, too her Ethyl Merman impersonation was legend. Just ask Don Percy! She relished Broadway musicals, travelling (but not too far by car), cooking, entertaining at home, drawing, her good neighbours Glen and Jean Speed, Bootsies (her cat), Auntie Olga's shenkas , and outdoor pursuits like golfing, cycling, canoeing, and the Arlington Sports Club Lodge on Lac du Bonnet. During her last days with us Brenda was comforted in her struggle by Dana Maeren, childhood friend Geraldine Field, and close friend Lori Torgersen. The family wishes to thank the warm and caring doctors and staff at both the Cancer Clinic, Health Sciences Centre, and the Palliative Care Centre, St. Boniface Hospital, for their valuable assistance. According to Brenda's wishes a service will be held on Thursday, August 23 at 11:00 a.m. at Crestview United Church, 316 Hamilton Ave. In lieu of flowers, if family and friends so desire, donations may be made in Brenda's memory to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent St., Winnipeg, MB, R2L 1X3. Mom, I could not have asked for a better Mother. I am so very proud of you. I love you and I will miss you deeply. I will see you in my thoughts and prayers. Love, always Cole.
