About | SANDRA YVONNE SCHALLA (nee DION) Sandra passed away peacefully on January 24, 2021. Sandra was predeceased by her grandparents, Iris and George Johnson and Bertha and Gestur Isfeld, and Paul Dion; her biological father Steven Isfeld, and her nephew Daniel Dion-Hart. She leaves to mourn her passing, husband Kevin; sons, Jeffery, Shawn (Marika) and Tyler; grandsons, Declan and Dawson; parents, Susan and Allen; sister Debra (Danny); brother-in-law Brian (Rita); nieces, Amari and Nessa; nephews, Christopher, Rick and Jason (April); grandmother Mary Dion, and many more family and friends. Sandra was born on July 20, 1970 in Winnipeg, MB. Sandra graduated from Sisler High School in 1988 and went on to take college courses before taking a job with an insurance company. Once her sons were born she left her job to become a stay at home mom to take care of her boys. As the boys grew and started school, she began to volunteer at their schools. Through volunteering she discovered her passion and became an educational assistant. She loved her job with kids. Outside of work she devoted her time to her family; nurturing and taking care of everyone. Her family came first. As she became a grandmother she loved spending time with her grandsons. She would spend her summers taking her grandson Declan to their summer trailer and to many parks around Winnipeg. Declan was her special little boy. Sandra loved to travel around Canada to visit relatives and vacationing in the USA, Mexico and to the trailer on the weekends to relax. Sandra was a devoted Christian. She attended church regularly at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Sandra always ensured her children attended church worship, Sunday school and lived by core Christian values. She knows we will be together again one day. We love you Mom. In lieu of flowers, friends may make a donation to the Canadian Mental Health Association. Funeral services will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Winnipeg, MB on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. Due to COVID-19 restrictions the funeral will be live streamed for anyone who would like to virtually attend.
