About ALEXANDER TSCHERNOW On Wednesday, October 5, 2000, at the Seven Oaks General Hospital, after a brief and very courageous battle with cancer, Alex passed away at the age of 53 years. Alex was predeceased by his father Alexander, brother Vladmir and cousin George. He leaves fond and loving memories to be cherished by Cathie, his wife of 29 years; children, Christian and Carolyn, and his mother Eugenia who he cared for lovingly. These memories are also shared by his in-laws, Frank and Kay Peters, Francis Peters, cousin Svetlana Zylin and many relatives, special friends and co-workers here in Winnipeg, as well as his sister-in-law Olga Tschernow, nephews Andrew, Greg (Joan) and family, cousin Lydia (Dee) and family and aunt Irene, all of Toronto, Ont. Alex was born in Sclater, Germany of Russian parents and came to Canada in 1953. He graduated from Sisler High School and began his working career at Inco in Thompson, MB. and was currently employed by Marmon Keystone as a Sales Manager. He recently returned to the University of Manitoba where he graduated and received his certificate from the Canadian Institute of Management. Alex had a keen sense of humour, great one liners and thrived on intellectual discussions. He was a man of few words but always willing to listen. He enjoyed his quiet times at home and always took the time to sit back and enjoy life. He believed in God, caring for people and doing your best during your lifetime. In accordance with Alexs wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of his life will be held at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 11 at THOMSON FUNERAL CHAPEL, 669 Broadway with Father Sam Argenziano officiating. Service will terminate at the chapel. Special thanks to Dr. J. Mulder, Dr. M. Kristjanson and Alexs Angels on 4U5, Seven Oaks General Hospital. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations may be made in memory of Alex to the Canadian Cancer Society (Manitoba Division), 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7.
