About | ARCHIE VENTURA ONG (Change in Place and Time of Service) Accidentally in Winnipeg on Sunday, October 1, 2000, Archie Ventura Ong, aged 20 years, dearly beloved son of Teresita and Armando Oane and brother to Anna Lee and Jasmine. Besides his loving mother, father and sisters, Archie leaves to cherish his memory his grandparents Carmelita and Liong Ong (The Philippines) and Corazon Oane (The Philippines). Archie also leaves behind to mourn his sudden and tragic passing his aunts, uncles and cousins, Vic and Sonia; Veraldine (Marissa), Lisa and Leigh, Buffy, Giselle, Damon, Holly and Mercy, Linda and Fred; Harold and Hazel, Jamie and Luz; Lorie, Joel and Jon-Jon, Baby; Jamie, Sean and Princess (The Philippines), James and Tina (Vancouver), Willy and Loida; Kay, J.R., LeeAnn, King, Kevin, Jayzar (Vancouver), Jerry and Remy; Jing-Jing, Jean and Joan, Leony and Bernadette and Gloria and Cesar; LenLen Tina (Husband) and child, and Abet (MacMac), (The Philippines). Archie was born on Wednesday, October 10, 1979 in San Fernando, Pampanga, The Philippines. He immigrated to Canada on Friday, August 26, 1988 and graduated from Sisler High School. He was employed at The Bird Shop Pet Store since 1998. He devoted most of his time to his family and relatives. During his much too short life he passionately cared for his numerous pets such as a Ball Python (King), Tarantula (Harry), Parrot (Billy) and Cockatiel (Joey). He took pride in constructing his 3 x 5 foot aquarium, which he filled with Japanese Koi, Piranhas and Orandus. He also loved to fish and enjoyed being in the company of his numerous friends. Lamay (Viewing) will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. Thursday, October 5 and Friday, October 6 from 12:00 noon to 12:00 a.m. (Prayers at 9:00 p.m.) at Knysh Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main St. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, October 7 from St. Peters Roman Catholic Church, 748 Keewatin St. Monsignor Maurice Comeault P.H., V.F. will be the Celebrant. Burial will follow at Assumption Cemetery, 3990 Portage Ave., West. Active Pallbearers will be Arnold, Reynold, Bo, Manny, Eric, Din, Rodney and Chris.
