About | GARY JOHN PYRYHORA February 20, 1950 - January 26, 2000 It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Gary Pyryhora, beloved husband, son and brother. Garys great spirit and will would not succumb to his illness. Putting the well being of others before his own, he gave of himself unstintingly. Gary attended Lansdowne School as a boy, and later graduated from Sisler High School. Gary brought his usual spirit to his school years and was a very successful student and a great friend to many. As a C.A. in private practice for many years, Gary took the greatest pride in doing his best for his clients, partners and staff. His integrity, ability, and commitment were apparent to all who knew him. Gary had far-ranging interests and skills. He enjoyed the challenge of his worth both as a C.A. and as a property manager. He had been self-employed in a variety of businesses from restauranteur to auto dealer. He was equally comfortable negotiating financing, preparing dinner at home for guests, or fixing the plumbing. Regardless of the task, Gary brought enthusiasm and high personal standards to everything he did. Gary will be sadly missed by his wife of 14 years, Rhonda May; his parents, Frank and Isabel Pyryhora; his sister Gaylene; his aunts and uncles, Sylvia and Borden Anthony, Theresa and Donald Weiss, John and Pat Perry; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Valerie and Marshal, David and Florence, Frank and Peggy; his mother and father-in-law, Gertrude Colburn and Ronald May; by his cousins, niece and nephews; and his best friend Dave Taylor. Funeral service will be held on Monday, January 31, at 1:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. at Luxton Ave. Family friend, Gloria Sokalski will conduct the service. Private family interment. Flowers gratefully declined. However, if friends so desire, donations in Garys memory may be made to Winnipeg Harvest or the Winnipeg Humane Society. Do not stand at my grave and weep. I am not there, I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow. I am the diamond glints on snow. I am the sunlight on the ripened grain. I am the gentle autumns rain. When you awaken, in the morning hush, I am the swift uplifting rush Of quiet birds in circled flight. I am the soft stars that shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry; I am not there, I did not die. Cropo Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements; 586-8044. As published in Winnipeg Free Press on Jan 29, 2000 |
