Graduation Year Class of 1961

About AUDREY EILEEN PRODONICK It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved sister and aunt Audrey at her residence on September 12, 2006. Audrey was predeceased by her brother Ken 1976, her father William 1989, her mother Mary 1997 and aunts Victoria, Nellie, Julie, Eleanor and uncles John, Alf, Zig and Ted. Left to cherish her memory are sister Nancy, niece Ashley, aunts Della (Herby), Laura, Phyllis (Albert) and Frances (Ken) and uncle Adam (Sonia) as well as numerous first, second and third generation cousins. Audrey was born in Winnipeg on July 29, 1943. Growing up she was involved with various sports, especially softball and spent many hours hanging out at Sinclair Park Community Club (C.U.A.C.) and Connie's with her friends. Audrey attended Faraday and Isaac Newton schools and graduated from Sisler High School. After a year of studies at the University of Manitoba, she attended and graduated from Teachers' College. Audrey's teaching career began in Grand Rapids, Manitoba and culminated at Nordale School in Winnipeg when she retired from teaching in 1980 due to health reasons. Audrey loved teaching and was instrumental in helping many of her young students to become the successful people they are today. Following her teaching years, Audrey was employed with Gillstar Research until her retirement. Audrey was a kind and generous person who was dearly loved by all her family. She would always put the welfare of others before her own and would delve wholeheartedly into researching all the facts on any subject in the hopes of benefitting or helping family or friends in any situation. She especially loved spending time with her niece Ashley, of whom she was extremely proud and chatting with her aunt's and uncle's on the phone for hours. A teacher at heart until the end, some of Audrey's last words were Aunty, do you know how long bee's live? A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 16, at 10:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street, with interment to follow at Elmwood Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Dennis Hallick, Daniel Leonhardt, William Emslie, Bryce Hallick, John Hallick and Jason Halick. In lieu of flowers, if friends so wish, donations may be made in Audrey's name to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Winnipeg Humane Society. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
