About IRENE VAUGHN (LINDA DEGRAVE) May 12, 1948 - June 24, 2007 Sadly on June 24, 2007 in Chilliwack, BC, after a courageous battle with cancer, Linda passed away peacefully and with dignity. Left to cherish Linda's memory are her mother Irene DeGrave and father Julian DeGrave (Anna). She will be greatly missed by her sister Lorraine (John) and her brothers, Marcel, Julian (Glenda), Robert (Beverly), Lawrence (Tracy) and Raymond (Diane) and stepsister Chrissy (Ryan) and stepbrother Steve. Also left to mourn her passing are 13 nieces and nephews and nine grand-nieces and nephews. Linda had many special friends, too numerous to mention. After graduating from Sisler High School in Winnipeg, she embarked on a financial career in Vancouver, BC, Ontario, CA and Phoenix, AZ. In Phoenix she joined Lincoln Properties where she was employed for more than 20 years. She had a passion for customer relations and made many long lasting friends, both personally and professional. Linda had a gift for making her own greeting cards, which were a work of art and will always be cherished by recipients. She never missed sending her cards to family and friends for all occasions. Anyone who received her cards knew to open them slowly . She also had a love for reindeer . Every family member has a collection of reindeer, small and large, that were Christmas gifts received from her over the years. Linda never had any children of her own. Besides her nieces and nephews, she had Casey and Charlie, her two Schnauzers, who meant to world to her. Linda looked forward to her annual visits with Mom, relatives and friends from Canada. She welcomed everyone with open arms and she treated everyone to Phoenix Coyotes hockey games. Linda returned to Canada to be closer to family and resided with her brother Lawrence and his wife Tracy in Chilliwack, BC, until her passing. Special thanks go to both Lawrence and Tracy for their unconditional love and care. The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the nurses and staff of Cascade Lodge for the exceptional care they provided for Linda; to Dorothy, Linda's volunteer and friend, who spent many hours caring for and assisting Linda with her greeting cards, and finally to Val from the Fraser Valley Health Palliative Care Home Support for taking extra special care of Linda.
