About	WILLIAM (BILL) SCHURKO May 15, 1941 - September 2, 2010 It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Bill at his residence at the age of 69 years after a brave and courageous battle with cancer. Left to cherish Bill's memory is his beloved and caring wife Helen, who cared for him and was at his side during his final days; daughter Barbara Camara (Manuel); step-daughters Rhonda Caruk (Larry), Shannon Crawford (Keith); step-son Brent; four grandchildren; brothers Walter (Michelle), John (Melvyne); nieces; nephews, as well as many friends. He was predeceased by his father Michael in 1978 and mother Katherine in 2007. Bill was born and raised in the north end. He attended St. Nicholas School (now Immaculate Heart of Mary School), and Sisler High School. He was employed at CNR as a locomotive electrician, Winnipeg Free Press as an electrician and Asst. Foreman Maintenance, Holy Family Nursing Home as Building Superintendent. Bill also started his own air conditioning company, Wide World Enterprise, which he operated for several years. He will also be remembered for his talents of being able to repair and build practically anything, not only for himself, but also for family and friends. In compliance with Bill's wishes, no formal Funeral Service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bill's memory to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB, R3E 0V9.
