Graduation Year Class of 1958
Date of Passing May 01, 2012
About ERNEST KOLASKI With sadness we announce the passing of Ernest Kolaski, loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend at the age of 72 on May 1, 2012. Ernie passed away peacefully at Concordia Hospital with his family at his side. He will be dearly missed by his wife Ethel; sons Jason (Debbie) and Ryan; grandchildren Kayla, Corben and Connor Kolaski, Jadyn Kolaski and Melissa and Krystin Coyle; mother Frances; brothers Arnold (Darlene), Ronald (Shauna); sister Irene Snippe; and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Stanley. Ernie was born in Winnipeg and grew up in the North End spending summers at Miami Beach. He graduated from Sisler High School and later the University of Manitoba with a BSc (ce) in 1961. He held various engineering positions in Saskatchewan and Manitoba (Duff's Ditch) before becoming an instructor of Civil Technology at Red River College. He retired in 2001, after 35 successful years of teaching. He enjoyed reading, learning, movies, shopping (with coupons - a game he played), casino trips, and his many cruises, especially Tahiti. When not working to make things better for his family, Ernie enjoyed the peacefulness of the cottage at Royal Lake, Ontario. He was never happier then when his children and grandchildren were around him. Thank you Dr. C. Duerksen and the staff on N3 West at Concordia Hospital for their amazing care and concern not only for Ernie but for the family as well. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ernie's memory may be made to the Concordia Hospital, Salvation Army or a charity of your choice. As per Ernie's wishes cremation and a private memorial service celebrating his life has already taken place. You never failed to do your best Your heart was true and tender You lived your life for those you loved, And those you loved remember. We are left with wonderful memories.
