About | FRANCES (FRAN) ALLAN (nee VIVONE) It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend Fran Allan on Thursday, May 30, 2013 surrounded by her family and friends, at the age of 66 years. Fran was predeceased by her father Albert and mother Josephine. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband Paul, of 38 years, daughters Krista (Mike) and Lisa (Cory,) grandchildren Celina, Carter, and Josie. She will also be sadly missed by her mother-in-law Eileen, sister Raffy, brother Joe (Allison), nephews Casey, Gannon, the entire Munday family, and many other extended family members and friends. Mom was a true North Ender growing up on Boyd Avenue in the North End of Winnipeg. She attended Faraday School, Isaac Newton, and Sisler High School. Mom worked at United Grain Growers, Credit Union Central, CIBC, and as a school bus driver for Pembina Trails School Division for many years. Growing up mom had a passion for sports including baseball, curling with the Bison business girls, and most recently golf. She spent many hours volunteering at Ronald McDonald House and was always giving of herself. She'll be remembered for her infamous hugs, catch phrase of "you're so cute", and always saying "I love you". No matter where she was she always had a smile on her face and her contagious laugh could be heard from a mile away. She was always the life of the party and never failed to make you feel like you were the most important person in the world to her. Mom met the love of her life in 1973 at Grand Beach, which would become her favourite place spending many summers at the family cottage. She lived everyday to the fullest and had a love for life like no other. She was happiest when she was surrounded by her family and friends. Her grandchildren were the light of her life and her spirit will live on in them. Mom, we will miss you fiercely just as you lived your life. You were the greatest lady we ever knew and we were so fortunate to have had you in our lives for as long as we did. You exemplified grace and beauty and showed us what it meant to be loved unconditionally. Our lives will never be the same without you in them and not a day will go by that we don't think of you with a smile in our hearts. A huge thank you to the Emergency Room staff at the Selkirk Hospital for the wonderful care and compassion they showed not only to our mom but to us during her last day. Thank you to all the family and friends who have stopped by to show their support and love as we get through this difficult time. In keeping with mom's wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial mass celebrating her life will be held on Friday, June 7, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Parish of St. Timothy, 135 John Forsyth Road. In lieu of flowers, donations in mom's name can be made to Ronald McDonald House, The Alzheimer Society, Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
