About TONY STEVEN SHISTOWSKI January 17, 1946 - December 13, 2014 It is great sadness that the family of Tony Shistowski announce his sudden passing on Saturday December 13, 2014. He was predeceased by his father Steve Shistowski in 1999, and his son-in-law Roland Lemoine, 2011. Tony will be lovingly remembered by his mother Katie Shistowski; brother Eugene; daughter Larissa (Chris) and grandson Maxwell; son Brent (Lauren), grandchildren Aiden and Aliya; and ex wife Cindy. Tony was born on January 17, 1946 in the R.M. of Harrison in Manitoba. He attended Sandy Lake School up to grade five until the family moved to Winnipeg and he attended King Edward School until grade six. In grade six he was chosen to a major work class. He then completed high school at Sisler High in Winnipeg. Directly after high school Tony chose a career with the City of Winnipeg where he quickly advanced to supervisor of Water Works Operations. A position he held until he retired in 1995. Until his passing he worked part time for Marion Cleaners. Tony was a very charismatic person. Just by walking into a room of people they found themselves attracted to his quick wit and sense of humour which made him loved by everyone. He was happiest when helping people. You could always count on Tony to be there if you needed him, no questions asked. He was a dedicated father, son and brother. He loved to coach is kids baseball and hockey teams as they were growing up and volunteered as a big brother to children without fathers. Tony was very passionate about old cars and reading history. He loved animals and was an exceptional cook. Tony was known for his delicious homemade pizzas, which were absolutely incredible! A funeral service will be held on Sunday December 21, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel 1442 Main Street. Flowers are graciously declined, in lieu; those who may desire can make a donation to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
