About ZACHARY TYLER BEREZOWSKY Peacefully on November 20, 2017 at the Health Sciences Centre, with his family by his side, Zachary Tyler Berezowsky passed away at the age of 28, after a hard fought battle with cancer. Born on September 30, 1989, at the Thompson General Hospital, at the same time the Toronto Blue Jays clinched the Division title, you just knew that sports and being a part of a team were going to be an integral part of Zachary's life, along with all the comradery that goes with it. Zachary and his family relocated to North End of Winnipeg, MB from Thompson in 1994, where he went to school, made his friends, played his team sports. Sisler High School is where he found his career passion of electronics and shortly after graduation, entered into the Electrician field, where he obtained his Journeyman status as a Construction Electrician and was a part of the IBEW Local 2085 team. Zachary had many work travels involving remote locations, which he knew was an important commitment as he broadened his career. His career also allowed him to expend his earnings on travel and music, which he so dearly loved. Zach's travels took him to many destinations with his many friends and family, music festivals such as Coachella, Lollapalooza, countless concerts within the city and major sporting events across North America, he was never far from a good time. Sports, especially hockey was a true love of the game for Zach right into adulthood. Many of his longtime friends were from the early days of playing various levels of hockey (Minor, Sisler High and Satelites) all within the North Winnipeg area. He continued that passion right up to where he could no longer participate with his many team mates on the Local 2085, Tyndall Park Mafia old-timers teams, as well as his slow pitch mates from the Dingers. Being a part of a team was family to Zachary, as well as sharing his passion for the Winnipeg Jets. Having a good time and being with his friends meant more than the material things of life to Zachary, unless of course it was new kicks, ball caps and video gaming. Zachary's passing was preceded by his great-grandparents, Nick and Mary; grandmother Maureen; granda Neilly. Zach is survived by his parents, Jim and Laureen Berezowsky (nee Vance); brothers, Jared and Chase Berezowsky; as well as granny Iris Vance and grandpa Yvon Desgagnes (Sunni Williams); Laureen's sisters, Karen (Darryl) Ukrainetz, Jacquie (Dan) Thevenot, Joanne (Tony) Machado and their extended families and Jim's sister Kim (Mike) Anweiler and their children, along with numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. A celebration of Zachary's life will be held on Sunday, November 26, at 12:00 noon. Location is the Neil Bardal Funeral Centre at 3030 Notre Dame Avenue with a gathering of greetings to follow. Special thanks to all the staff at HSC and CancerCare who assisted in making Zachary's journey as positive and as painless as possible. Sincere appreciation goes out to Doctor Joel Gingerich and RN Cheryl Greaves for your care and attention to our son Zachary. In lieu of flowers, if so desired, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3E 0V9. NEIL BARDAL FUNERAL CENTRE 204-949-2200 neilbardalinc.com
