About | LETA KATHERINE NOAKES (NARDIELLO) (née BELL) September 21, 1956 - March 24, 2018 It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Leta K. Noakes on March 24, 2018 at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Gimli with her family by her side. She leaves behind her loving husband Darrell; children, Lacey (Shawn and Connor) Adriana, Michael (Romanna); her little ones, Theron, Svea, Brennan and Devlin; and sister Jo-Ann (Bruce Duncan), as well as the many family and friends she touched in her daily life. She is predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Phyllis Bell, and her half-sister Diane. Growing up in the north end of Winnipeg, she attended Sisler High School where she grew her love of music, being in the school plays. That love translated into a short career in a travelling band which she truly enjoyed. After meeting and marrying Mike (Nardiello), her love and passion turned to her family. She did everything with her family in mind and often took in stray cats and kids just as her mom had. She never missed a concert or sporting event. She was active in parent council and involved in all aspects of her children's lives. You could tell her anything and she would offer sound advice without judgment. She was always conscious of time and lived fully present in the moment. She encouraged us to follow our hearts, even if it was scary to make a big change, as she believed that we should use all the moments we have as best we can. She was kind and beautiful inside and out. Her dream was to live in the country and she was able to realize this when she met and married Darrell, her soulmate. As they raised their little ones in Gimli, she loved doing other's genealogy and helping people connect with their past. Out there, you could find her exploring nature or sitting on the deck listening to the birds and watching whatever the little ones were up to. She leaves behind a legacy of love that we will always carry forward. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 7 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Bartholomew's Anglican Church in Winnipeg Beach at 291 Churchill. As published in Winnipeg Free Press on Mar 31, 2018 |
