About | Kevin Lyle Zanewich, 48, beloved husband of Christine and devoted and loving father to David, 7, died peace-fully at his home in Montreal August 8, 2003, with his family at his side, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was the first beloved son of Paul and Laura Zanewich. He was predeceased by his father, but leaves to mourn his passing his mother; sisters, Paula (Richard) and Leanna (Darryl) his brothers, Gary (Santa and children, Danielle, Breanna, Dallas and Joshua), Darcy (Susan and children, Jared, Chase, Chelsea and Kaitlyn), Robert (Kim and daughter Madelyn), and Leslie (Laura) as well as many relatives and friends. He graduated from Sisler High School in 1973. Kevin excelled at athletics. He played lacrosse, football for the Sisler Spartans, baseball and hockey for C.U.A.C. He was first employed by Steves Auto Electric. After leaving Winnipeg, he had various forms of employment including self-employment in several businesses. Instead of pursuing offers to one day play professional hockey, he took up a serious study of the Bible with one of Jehovahs Witnesses. What he learned had such a profound influence on him that he dedicated his life to serve God and was baptized as one of Jehovahs Witnesses. With a keen desire to help other people benefit from Biblical knowledge, he was moved to become a full-time minister. Since then he has served God faithfully in many different capacities in several provinces in Canada and, along with his wife Christine, he served as a missionary in Kenya, Africa. He died faithful, knowing he will be resurrected (Acts 24:15) into a paradise earth soon to come by means of Gods Kingdom with Jesus Christ as King (Matthew 6:9, 10). Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held in the Montreal Assembly Hall of Jehovahs Witnesses at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 16. In lieu of flowers, if anyone wishes, they may send a contribution to the Cancer Society. As published in Winnipeg Free Press on Aug 16, 2003 |
