About On August 28, 2010 Robert passed away at age 93 in the Victoria General Hospital, Winnipeg. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Dora and daughter Lenore (Ron Backman). Robert Henry Alexander Gray was born on June 30, 1917 to Henry and Alice Gray. Bob attended public schools in East Kildonan then went to the University of Manitoba where he received his BSc, BEd, and MEd degrees. He began his 37 years career as a teacher in Roblin, MB then returned to East Kildonan where he taught at Polson School. Bob served as a Lieutenant in the Canadian Army from 1941-45. After being wounded in 1945 he returned to Winnipeg and resumed his teaching career. He taught at East Kildonan Collegiate, Laura Secord, Gordon Bell, Lord Wolseley, Kelvin and retired in 1978 as vice-principal of Sisler High School. He was predeceased by his parents and sister Alice (Les) Wylie. Cremation has taken place. At Bob's request no formal service will be held.
