About JOAN CHRISTINE LEMKY (nee FRAMPTON) On December 23, 2006 after a lengthy illness, Joan Christine Lemky, surrounded by her loving family at home, passed peacefully into the presence of her loving Saviour. Predeceased by her father, John Frampton, in 1990 and sister Valerie McCann in 1988, she is survived by her beloved husband Gord, son Daniel and daughter Jaclyn, who were her pride and joy and greatest accomplishment, (and J.D. the family dog who seldom left her side), by her mother Helen Frampton, sisters Jean (Charles) Cox, Donna (Ron) Helm, Maureen (John) Woroschuk, Margaret (Keith) Blake, Diana (Lorren) Pettit, Shelley (Bob) Allan, Tamara (Paul) Vieira and by brothers John (Sharon), Robert (Shirley), Greg (Celine), and Timothy, by numerous nieces and nephews, aunties, uncles and cousins, by her dear friends and extended family, Marilyn Wedlake and Ken Miller, and by many, many wonderful friends and colleagues. Born in Winnipeg July 5, 1956, Joan , after graduation, spent a year at Central Pentecostal College in Saskatoon before returning to Winnipeg where she worked at the District office of Canada Safeway and then at Aikins MacAulay and Thorvaldson law office until Daniel's birth. She left the workforce until both children were in school and then took a position in the office at Springs Christian Academy where her children attended school, giving her the opportunity to spend school holidays with them at home (as well as keep an eye on them each day!) Joan attended Calvary Temple for most of her life and was active as leader in the weekday girls program, as a counsellor and director for girls camps at Calvary Temple Youth Camp, as social convenor for college and career and young peoples, and in many other different ministries. For the past eight years the family has attended Springs Church where she ministered as a greeter and in the bookstore. She will always be remembered as a great encourager who kept Hallmark Cards and Canada Post in business. Funeral Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 29 at Springs Church, 595 Lagimodiere Blvd. Pastor Leon Fontaine officiating. Interment to follow at Brookside Cemetary. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joan's memory to Springs Christian Academy to start a scholarship fund, or to Calvary Temple Youth Camp.
