A citizen of Canada and the U.K., Graeme began his career at age 22 by moving to Germany after the fall of the Berlin wall where he was able to join KPMG and became a junior auditor, auditing west and east German companies. Subsequently, at 26 years of age Graeme ran the treasury operations for Argentina’s third-largest export group, a large Lebanese-Argentine family-owned agribusiness and agricultural trading house. Subsequently, Graeme spent more than ten years in financial services firms from the mid-90s through 2008. Prior to being recruited to Deutsche, Graeme worked in a similar capacity for other private equity fund investment houses within Europe, including for several years as a member of the Management Committee at LGT Capital Partners, belonging to the family office for the Princely Family of Lichtenstein. Graeme has closed on over $2bn of funding commitments from institutional and high net worth investors and participated in a similar amount of fund, direct and co-investments in companies. He has served on the Advisory Committees of numerous funds around the world, including with the Jordan Fund (dedicated to making buyout investments in the Levant) and with the Advent and Hicks Muse (together with former Canadian Prime Minister Mulroney) funds. Acting as a principal investor, Graeme has also been CEO of a publicly-listed oil company, trading on the senior exchange in Canada, with oil and gas deposits under development in Kazakhstan. Graeme is active in environmentally progressive causes and is a member of the Harvard Business School Clubs of Montreal, Toronto and London, England, as well as the CFA Institute. Graeme is also a former corporate-sponsored windsurfer and carded Canadian amateur athlete with government support.
